Shared family purpose
We'll lead conversations about what your family believes, what it won't fund and what it wants to be known for. Then we'll write that down in a family giving charter you can update over time.
Family legacy
A family legacy is more than a fund with your name on it. It's your values put into practice, with the structure, stories and roles that keep your family's giving thoughtful for decades.
Why families come to us
We help families turn good intentions into habits: a clear mission, a legal home for your gifts, a grantmaking process your family will actually use, and real roles for children and grandchildren beyond writing checks.
We'll lead conversations about what your family believes, what it won't fund and what it wants to be known for. Then we'll write that down in a family giving charter you can update over time.
Most multi-generational plans live in a Paramount Legacy Fund (DAF) with successor advisors. Some families keep a private foundation and use us for grant strategy. Others blend both.
Junior grant committees, youth giving allowances and planned family meetings help kids learn the responsibility that comes with wealth. Nobody's forced to take part.
Grantmaking policies, anonymity preferences, concentration limits and conflict rules, written down so future advisors know exactly what you intended.
How we build it
We talk with you and with the younger generation. Together we note the causes, places, firm limits and family stories that shape how you give.
We work with your estate attorney and wealth team so your DAF, foundation, bequests and beneficiary designations all fit one plan.
Annual giving calendar, family meeting rhythm, grant cycles, and decision rights (who recommends, who reviews, what requires full consensus).
Grant recommendations, a written record and yearly check-ins keep your giving on track as your family and the law change. If you already have a fund or project with us and want portal access, just ask.
Legacy gift paths
Many families open a Legacy Fund now for the tax benefits and to practice giving together, then add estate designations so the giving continues. We'll help with wording alongside your attorney, but we don't draft estate documents.
Fund a DAF during life with cash or appreciated assets. Recommend grants annually. Name children or a committee as successor advisors.
Direct a portion of your estate into a Legacy Fund that continues family grantmaking under Paramount Impact after your passing.
Name Paramount Impact (or a Legacy Fund) as beneficiary of your retirement accounts or life insurance. This is often more tax-efficient than leaving IRAs to heirs.
Create income for life (or a term of years), then direct the charitable remainder into the family's ongoing grantmaking vehicle.
Name children, a family committee, or both. Define what happens if a successor steps away.
We run meetings with agendas, grant packets and notes on decisions that your family can reuse every year.
Choose for each grant whether your name is shown. Some families like to give quietly, and others are happy to be named.
We'll talk through your values, the fund, any project you have in mind and the role each generation could play.
